8/2/11 Update: Hersheypark Announces Skyrush
It seems that a piece of Hersheypark’s Attraction 2012 puzzle has shown up at Hersheypark. Stacked along the eastern perimeter of the park are what appear to be roller coaster support columns.
And the color is……drumroll please……..powder blue.
After being revealed on the Project 2012 Facebook Group page yesterday, enthusiasts have pegged the support columns as those of Intamin. I can’t disagree, as the pieces seem to match recent Intamin coaster installations.
Folks familiar with Hersheypark will remember that this staging area where the supports are located — outside the park fence near Lightning Racer — was also the temporary resting place for Storm Runner’s supports and tracks in 2003.

So, what do you think about the color? Leave a comment, let me know! I am not sure it would have been my first choice. But I am thrilled the supports aren’t red.

Just because the SUPPORTS are blue doesn’t mean the TRACK will not be red. That’s all we need is yet another Intamin coaster with red tracks that will, within a couple of years, turn into a depressing shade of pink. UGH!!!
These look alot like the supports for Kings Dominion’s Intimidator.
